Unit History
Chartered by the Lion’s Club of Grovetown October 1st, 2008, Pack 108 was formed with boys attending Cedar Ridge Elementary School and the Grovetown, Georgia, area.
With positive leadership and attention to family fellowship and fun, we have grown into a pack with 60+ members and we’re still growing. Our pack is comprised of scouts from all three elementary schools in Grovetown and many other scouts from surrounding areas seeking a valuable program.
The pack is very active in the community and has maintained Centennial Quality Unit designation every year since our initial application in 2008. In August of 2010, Pack 108 earned a Gold Centennial Recruiter Honor Unit award for the distinction of recruiting more Scouts than any other unit in our Kiokee District.
In January of 2010, Pack 108 was re-chartered by Fellowship Baptist Church of Grovetown on Robinson Avenue because the pack outgrew the generous facilities offered for our use by the Lion’s Club. Fellowship Baptist Church is a vibrant, growing church conveniently located just outside of Ft. Gordon Gate 2.
Unit 108 began primarily as a Cub Scout Pack with 8 Tigers and 4 Webelos. And looking forward to continued, positive growth, the leadership of Pack 108 has plans to expand scouting opportunities to our boys, and any others in our community, who are bridging into Boy Scouts by standing up Troop 108 in 2012. Further plans in 2012 also include creating Venture Crew 108 for siblings of our scouts and any other male or female students wishing to join a Venture Crew.
Most important to know, Pack 108 is a dynamic and council-involved unit that is supported by a healthy leadership team and a positive group of young boys that are excited about scouting and “doing their best” in their personal growth and for our community and country.
